It was with great sadness that the RAN Ski Club learned this month of the passing of Rear Admiral Peter Purcell.
Peter was a stalwart of the Club, having served on the committee as Vice President
ACT 1988 to 1991, and then as President until 1995. Peter represented Navy many times as a
Nordic skier, managing the team while in uniform and coaching the team following his
retirement from Navy in 1995. For his exceptional service as a member of the Club, Peter was made an Honorary Life Member.
